life hates me

Yesterday I stopped at Borders in the Oakland Mall after work to pick up a book I had put on hold: Twinkle’s Big City Knits. After dashing through the rain on my way in and out I returned to my car…. To discover it won’t start. I grumbled a lot, called the husband, and decided to take advantage of the roadside assistance that I pay for with my car insurance. After being put on hold for ten minutes or so I am finally told that I will receive an automated call after I get off the phone with the operator that will tell me what towing company is coming and how long I will have to wait. In my car, I wait. and wait. and wait some more. 20 minutes go by and I’ve received no automated call and no service. So I call roadside assistance AGAIN. After another bout of lovely hold music I am told by a new operator that my previous call ticket was scheduled. Thus, no one had even been dispatched yet!!! I swear under my breath, remind myself it’s not her fault, and ask for someone to be dispatched immediately. Another ten minutes go by and no flippin’ automated call. If you saw strange billows of smoke around 6:40pm yesterday… uh yea, that was probably me. It was probably the smoke coming from my ears. Sorry. I called roadside assistance, FOR THE THIRD TIME, told them I’d been waiting over an hour and to just forget it. I would have my husband come out and jump me. To keep the story short it turns out that I needed a new battery, so at least it wasn’t the alternator. I didn’t get home until almost 8pm. I get out of work at 4pm. Definitely not one of my best days. The week has to get better, right?

Those days when you really seem to suck at life are the worst. We all have them every now and then. Things go bad, then they get better (which is totally lame. Life should always be easy!!)
