This past Saturday I had the pleasure of going to a Ravelry party at Artisan Knitworks in Grosse Pointe Park. I've only visited this shop once before, but this time I fell in love with it even more! It has a very unique style to it. Half of the shop is like a gallery; featuring fine handknits, jewelry, felted accessories and more. The other half has the best selection of indie dyed and handspun yarn I've ever seen in person! Also they carry some roving, spindles, and other fiber goodies. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the amazing selection of buttons! Glass, shell, wood, even vintage! I have a weak spot in my heart for vintage buttons. I resisted the urge to rummage through the HUGE box they have of the vintage buttons alone!
The party was a blast. I met quite a few people who were all very nice. I also can't fail to mention the yummy spread of snacks! Tasty cheeses, cookies, cupcakes and even homemade vanilla ice cream! Unfortunately I couldn't make any purchases that visit, but one skein in particular made me swoon with a vengeance. It was from Autumn House in their Herdwick yarn, which is a chunkier sock yarn that makes great boot and clog socks. The colorway was Moorstalker which was this gorgeous mix of teals and tans. Someday it will be mine. Oh yes, someday....

I wish I could have gone, it sounds like you had a great time. Instead I was furniture stopping, and hope to have the basement open for knitting club in March.
(grin) the Moorstalker colorway of Autumn House was the hit of the trunk show & sold out in each of their yarns. It's been re-ordered in Herdwick (the chunky sock, for 3s or 4s) & in Twist ( the fine weight of their sock yarn). My pair of Herdwick socks is going to be done soon....in Moorstalker. Feet are done & cuffs are at 4" right now.
